The Horse Gulch Trail System features more than 300+ miles of singletrack bike trails in the heart of Durango, and at the doorstep of Casa de Sendero - "The Trail House." You can drop in to the Horse Gulch from the backyard patio, and loop around to the entrance to the driveway.
The Durango Mesa Bike Park opened 2023 and is a multi-year project for Progressive Trail Design. Built on more than 1800 acres in Durango, the park features flow trails, downhill trails and a bike park. The park ties into 300+ miles of singletrack in the Horse Gulch Trail System.
The main area of Overend Mountain Park encompasses about 300 acres, located right in-town of Durango. While those 300 acres do not make for a long bike ride, oh what a ride it is! The best way to describe Overend Mountain Park is as a “playground for mountain bikers.”
Twin Buttes Trail System has moderate steady climbs, tight banked turns and classic single track. While a popular mountain bike location, it is also a multi-use trail. It is located off Hwy 160 in Durango. There is a dirt parking lot near a gas station on the North side of the road.
A popular and iconic trail in Durango, Animas Mountain yields spectacular views of the Hermosa (to the south) and Animas (to the north) Valleys. The main trail, Animas Mountain loop is very easy to follow via the many signs along the way. Animas Mountain is a short ride away.
The Colorado Trail is one of the best trails in Durango, great for both hiking and biking, and perfect for most skill levels. The trail is lovely in all seasons, with access to picturesque Junction Creek and its shallow pools in the summer, fall colors, and winter snowshoeing.
